On August 26, 2015, 24-year-old WDBJ7 reporter Alison Parker was shot and killed during a live broadcast near Roanoke, Virginia. While his emotions were still raw, her father Andy vowed on national television to do “whatever it takes” to end gun violence in America. He has traveled across the country speaking on behalf of ballot initiatives and pro "gun sense" political candidates.

With assistance from the Georgetown University Civil Rights Law clinic, Andy has taken his fight to Google in an effort to remove the video of Alison’s murder from YouTube and in 2022 created the Andy's Fight PAC to support candidates who believe that both the proliferation of guns and the violence and hate on social media must end.

This book is the story of Andy's fight to honor his daughter's life through action.
